This is a subject close to my heart. As Dr. Murray points out, “many of the Lord’s disciples were fishermen.” What is the connection between their trade and the words of Christ in Matthew 4:19, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men”? There are many parallels the Lord is drawing between the gospel message (the net or the hook), and the sinner saved (the fish or catch). Let us look at some of them, over the next few instalments.
